Note: The monthly rent is calculated by taking the daily rent and multiplying it by 365 and then dividing that by 12 months. This method is based on a standard year with 365 days, not 366-day leap years, and it doesn’t use the weekly rent amount for the calculation.

How does this calculator work?

It can seem like a simple task: converting monthly rent into a weekly amount.

It seems simple enough; just divide the monthly amount by four weeks, right?

Then to get the yearly amount we multiply our answer by fifty-two.

No, see it’s very easy to get it wrong! But why?

There are not exactly four weeks per month and there are not exactly 52 weeks in every year.

The fifty two weeks per year that is commonly thrown around is only an approximate number.

Weekly rent can be divided by seven days to work out the rent per day.

The rent per day can be multiplied by three hundred and sixty-five days to work out the rent per year.

Finally, you can divide the rent per year by twelve months to arrive at the rent per month figure.
