    Testimonials From Our Students

How long does this course take to complete?
How much does this course cost? Are there any additional fees?

Some students may finish faster depending on current skills, knowledge and ability. We support all students for 12 months and this can be extended for a small fee. These times to complete below are only guides. It isn’t a race and learning is crucial to applying this in your workplace. We are fully aware these courses are linked to career outcomes, so we understand the importance for you.

Short course 5 subjects / 7 days or longer

Longer course 12 subjects / 1-2 months or longer

Certificate IV 18 subjects / 2-3 months or longer

Diploma 12 subjects / 2-3 months or longer

We identified three things that impact students completing courses

    1. The answers are in the learning materials
    2. The number of assessment questions to answer are reasonable
    3. Student support is great

Connect Skills Institute is better in this area because we identified, reviewed and changed the way we present the courses so your course finish sooner.

If you do not give up, we never will on you.

Yes, all learning materials and assessments are accessed and completed online. Includes video and interactive learning. Nothing for you to handwrite, print or scan! Your certificate is held within your student portal for easy download. You get access to all of the course materials.

We have a few different payment options: pay in full or payment plan. Please see our website for more information. Please see our student handbook for a list of student fees. We have aimed our fees at the mid-range of most training providers for the same course. We honestly believe our courses and service are worth a premium and a tangible benefit for our students, but we acknowledge money does not grow on trees, so we are very competitive.

We provide support via a number of different communication channels (phone, email, text message, online messaging and LiveChat). We want you to complete your course, and we’re with you every step of the way! We are more than happy to talk to you anytime via LiveChat, our student system messaging system or by scheduled time over the phone using one of the callback links provided to students.

    A callback for things like:

A course induction to show you around the student portal, access materials and how to find support.

Book a 15min callback during the working week.

Attend a zoom Lunch and learn session every week. Timetable in your student portal.

We also do webinars sessions for corporates and schools.

Check out our google reviews to get an honest appraisal of what students say.

These units have been chosen to meet the training package and meet any regulatory requirements in that state or territory.

You will be provided with an accredited or skills outcome. A copy of this will be on your eLearning portal to access at any time. We do have an administration application assist service if you need that.

We call them assessments; there are assessments to undertake for each unit of learning in this course. Some subjects are clustered together in a group and the benefit for the student is a reduced number of assessments.

We understand and have ensured that all needed materials are in the student portal. Our assessments align with the learning material in the same order for ease of reference. We use a program called Scorm, and it presents the materials in an interesting format with tabs, links, pictures, graphs and videos to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Materials are best viewed in the student portal. Learning materials are available on request in a cut down version.

The course fee and your budget is an important part of your decision criteria. We believe the race to the bottom on price has meant a lowering of standards from training companies delivering courses and this affect you.
We strive to deliver a unique, engaging online experience that is beyond what other training organisations offer. We are real estate people with industry experience. We care about real knowledge transfer, so it’s important for us to commit to best practices and best services for our clients. We have the best balance of fairness, access and equity to give you the greatest chance to finish your course and learn.

Once you have completed your course, all individuals must apply to the government regulator for their state or territory. There is usually an application form to fill out, and you will be required to attach your real estate course certificate or statement of attainment.

As part of the Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice, you will learn about the regulators in each state and the educational requirements to apply for a real estate license.

As a student of Connect Skills Institute, we are happy to assist you in applying for your real estate license, on successful completion of your course.

For more information on eligibility and educational requirements see the following list of regulators for each state and territory:

New South Wales: NSW Fair Trading

Victoria: <...strong>Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety – DMIRS (Government of Western Australia)

South Australia: Consumer and Business Services (CBS) (Government of South Australia)

Australian Capital Territory: Access Canberra (ACT Government)

    Northern Territory: Northern Territory Government

Tasmania: Property Agents Board Of Tasmania

There are many different training providers which students can choose from. There is no “best” per se, but there are better quality training providers than others.

Over the years, we have supported many students who have studied at other training organisations and had negative experiences.

Before enrolling into a real estate course, we recommend you:

    • Avoid judging all course offerings as the same. Just because they use the same code or name does not mean they are trained or delivered the same way. There can be a huge difference in the quality of training, teachers and learning materials. Poor training and materials can impact your ability to finish a course or learn and improve your skills and knowledge.<...' online reviews (Google, Facebook, TrustPilot or ProductReviews etc.)
    • Avoid 1-day fast-tracked courses or 3-day workshops. These real estate course offerings are typically: a. not compliant with government standards. We don’t recommend that students risk their future careers or real estate license. Training regulators do conduct audits, and they can revoke certificates. b. not just one or three days. Usually, after listening to someone in a workshop, students will then go home, study learning material and do assessments in their own time.

Note that vocational real estate courses can only be fast-tracked via recognition of prior learning (RPL).

Accredited and nationally recognised real estate courses can cover a wide range of topics such as property law, economics, marketing, finance, and agency management.

In the Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice, you will learn the aspects and duties of real estate sales and property management- as well as real estate legislation, communication, property inspections and trust accounts.

Whether you’re looking to start a career in real estate or take your existing career to the next level, there’s a real estate course to suit your career needs.

Potential job roles include property sales, property management, agency management and auctioneering.

What is a real estate agent?

A real estate agent is someone licensed or certified by a regulator, the state government, to work in real estate. Real estate agents act on behalf of their clients in property transactions and have a duty of care to their clients.

Before you start any real estate course, you should make sure that:

    1. You enrol into the right course that suits your career goals.
    2. You understand the government regulators’ eligibility and educational requirements.
    3. You understand the eligibility requirements of your training provider.

It is not generally recommended to apply for jobs before you finish the required real estate course and register yourself with the government regulator (if required).

The reason is that if you do get a job opportunity and the employer wants you to start ASAP, you legally cannot. So in that kind of situation, the employer can easily change their mind, or they might find someone else to fulfil the role.

We recommend that once you have fulfilled the requirements of your state or territory regulator and are approved, start looking for work and applying for jobs.
