Real Estate Agent License Changes in QLD 2021 – CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice

Fair Trading QLD has introduced new educational requirements!

The new training package for the Real Estate Salesperson & Real Estate Agent License is comprised of units from the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice and CPP51119 Diploma of Property (Agency Management) qualifications.

The Office of Fair Trading QLD will continue to accept the old units from the CPP40307 qualification until the 30th of September 2021 after which time, only the qualifications from the new training package (CPP41419 & CPP51119) will be accepted for a licence or registration.

I think the changes are positive overall because our CPP41419 – Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice course will be a more interesting and engaging learning experience.

Real Estate Salesperson

Changing from 7 units of learning (CPP40307) to 12 units from CPP41419 Certificate IV.

I would recommend if you are thinking about registering to work as a salesperson that you complete the current shorter course of 7 units (CPP40307), rather than 12 units. You can learn more about our 7 unit Real Estate Salesperson course by clicking here.

Real Estate Agent

Changing from 19 units of learning (CPP40307) to 19 units from CPP41419 Certificate IV & CPP51119 Diploma of Property (Agency Management).

      Hi Lisa,

There are a few things to consider, but the short answer is when applying to QLD Fair Trading the education will need to be based on QLD law, and depending on the license type you require, there may be some additional units to complete. The good news is that a lot of the units are the same, and you can use your current certificate to go towards a new Certificate based on QLD law.
